Campbell Genealogy - Marion Co., SC and area

Welcome to my Campbell web pages!

My mother was a Campbell, born in Marion Co., SC. My Grandparents were Alva G. Campbell (1916-1980) and Gertrude Turner. Alva's parents were Willie S. Campbell (1880-1935) and Henrietta Edwards. Willie's parents were Spencer A. Campbell (1852-1928) and Celia A. Johnson. Spencer's parents were Ebenezer Campbell (1828-1907) and Charlotte Lane. Spencer's wife Celia's parents were Carey Johnson and Ara Campbell (1819-1896). Ara and Ebenezer were brother and sister. Their parents were James Campbell (1780-1842) and Mary Barnes. James's parents were John Campbell (1752-c1808) and Nancy Ann Cribb.

John was born in Scotland and came to what is now Marion Co., SC around the time of the American Revolution. His parents are unknown. He does not appear to be related to most of the other Marion and Dillon County Campbells.

I'm not involved in the Campbell project, but I highly recommend it.  Only one Campbell with Marion or Dillon Co., SC roots has participated so far, so it would be helpful if some Campbells from this region joined the project!
