!NOTE:Maiden name given as James on D/C of daughter Ella James Rogers, Thomas L. Turner was the informant, Ella's nephew, Sophie's grandson. This could be a typical death certificate error (listing the mother's married name instead of maiden), but in this case it may be correct, and she was also a James.
The D/C of daughter Eliza Joanna also lists her mother as a James, though as Sapphira James, but close enough. Is this confirmation of maiden name? Or just a 2nd example of someone not knowing?;

* Thomas James was only one in Marion with a daughter her age, under 10 (1810/20). Doesn't prove he was her father though (see 1830 notes below for why this probably isn't Sophia).;
!CENSUS:1830 x
* (1) Edwin James had daughter her age, 10-14 (1815/20). Don't know who he is, perhaps of the Horry County James families for that name appears there.
* (2) William James also had one daughter her age. Don't know who he is, perhaps also of Horry.
* Rhoda James, widow of Thomas (from 1820) did not have a matching daughter, but had one 15-19, who is probably same one from 1820, so probably not Sophia.;
