KINSTON - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Williams Grant, age 110, resided with her children at 707 Parrott Avenue and 2218 Primrose Lane, Kinston, N.C. and 307 Jonquil Court Fuquay-Varina, N.C. She died Tuesday,
April 2, 2002 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Mary was a homemaker and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in LaGrange. Mrs. Grant was honored by Lenoir County Council on Aging, May 7, 2001 as the oldest living resident of Lenoir County.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pinelawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Brad Williamson officiating. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew J. Grant, daughters, Carrie Grant,
Sally Grant and Edith G. Faulkner; sons Stafford Grant, John L "J.L." Grant and Roland H. Grant. Survivors include daughters,
Susie G. Lewis of Wilmington, N.C., Lenzia G. Tyndall and husband, Hugh of Kinston; sons, Woodrow W. Grant and wife, Agnes of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Mercer Grant and wife, Ann of
Kinston, N.C. daughters-in-law Christine Grant and Loretta Grant, both of
Goldsboro, N.C., 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grand children and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30
p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Lenzia G. Tyndall, 707 Parrott Ave. Kinston. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, P.O. Box 303, LaGrange, N.C. 28551 or to the charity of your choice.
