!NOTES from martygrant.com
Thomas Braddy was born before 1775 (per 1820 census) or ca 1780/90 (per 1830 and 1840 census), probably in Duplin County. He is not a proven child of Stephen Braddy, but it seems the only possible answer. He was probably home with Stephen for the 1786 census (aged "under 21", born ca 1765/86), and probably home in 1790 ("under 16", born ca 1774/90).
He did not appear on the 1800 census, but was probably living with relatives.
On 20 Dec 1801, Thomas Braddy married Dorcas Carroll in Duplin Co, NC.
In 18 Oct 1804 Court, Thomas Brady was listed among a list of insolvents for the year 1803. This means he didn’t (or couldn’t) pay his taxes for that year. (From "Duplin County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions Abstracts of Minutes 1803_1805 Part 6", by Leora H. McEachern, 1984)
I did not find Thomas Braddy on the 1810 census, either in Duplin or Wayne County.
Thomas is listed on the 1820 census in Wayne County, as is an Abel Braddy. Unfortunately, this census was alphabetical, so I can’t tell who his neighbors were. The 1820 census entry for Thomas seems to be in error in several ways, including Thomas’ apparent age, and the apparent age of his wife.

Thomas was still in Wayne for the 1830 census, as is an Abel Braddy (1800/10). Unfortunately, this census was alphabetical, so I can’t tell who his neighbors were.

Thomas Braddy was still in Wayne County for the 1840 census. He was in Buck Swamp District. A James Braddy (1810/20) was listed in the same district, but not close by.

Thomas Braddy died before 1850, for Dorcas is listed as head of household on the 1850 census in Wayne County. She is living alone.

I have no record of any children for Thomas and Dorcas, though the early census records indicate they had several. I would guess that James Braddy (1810/20) and Abel Braddy (1800/10) are likely suspects, and possibly John Braddy (c1802) (though I currently show him to be child of Fairlise Braddy, but no direct proof of that).
