Maurice Dean George, age 69, of the Castlewood Community in Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Tues., April 5 [2005] at his residence.
A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Walter Noten and Eula Belle Phillips George. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having retired after serving 23 years.
He is survived by his son Marty Dean George of Danbury, CT and Monty Dean George and his wife Christy of McCala, Al; a brother, Larry George of Athens, G.A.; sisters Polly Herrington and Maxine Barton, both of Birmingham, A.L., Evelyn Guge of Canton and Bonita Moss of Robbinsville. He has one granddaughter, Rachael Suzanne George of McCala, A.L.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Sat., April 9 at Bear Creek Baptist Church. The Reverend Dana Dockery officated. A burial followed at Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Townson-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
