F.C. "Sonny" Turner, 86, of Darlington died Saturday, March 27, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 3PM Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in the Chapel of Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery. Sonny was born in Marion County, South Carolina; He was the son of the late Canty Mac and Fleetwood Turner. He was the owner and operator of Turner's Cash and Carry for 19 years in Darlington and worked for Mannheim Auto Auction for 23 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all. Surviving are his sons, John Turner of Darlington, Gene Turner, and Lee Turner and his wife Wendy all of Hartsville; his grandchildren, Gabe, Stephen, and Susan; his great grandchildren, Brittany, Shawn, and Noah; his brother, Earl Turner and wife Delores of Florence; his sisters, Dot Rogers of Darlington, Margaret Raimer and husband, Bill of Florida and Gladys Andrews of Wilmington; and his two special friends, Brastice and Jenny Howell of Darlington. Sonny was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Turner. The family will receive friends today, Monday, March 29, 2010 from 5:30 until 7:30 PM at Kistler Hardee Funeral Home, Darlington.
