!OBIT:MANNING | Mr. Hoyt Herlong, 70, died Thursday, October 19, 2006.

Mr. Herlong was born in Nichols, a son of the late Johnny William Herlong
and Nancy Caroline Floyd Herlong. He is also predeceased by his brothers,
Lester Herlong, JL Herlong and Jimmy Herlong; and sister, Linda Skipper.

Mr. Herlong was a retired Master Sgt. of the U.S. Air Force. He served in
Thailand, France and two tours in Vietnam.

Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Herlong, of the home; a son, Hoyt Henson
Herlong; a daughter, Sharon Kay Herlong; brothers, Harold Herlong, Bobby Herlong,
Floyd Herlong and Danny Herlong; sisters, Janise Harrelson and Shelby
Campbell; and grandchildren, Laura Jayne Herlong and Kyle Henson Herlong.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at
Riverside Cemetery in Nichols, directed by Richardson Funeral Home of Marion.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 26,
2006 at the funeral home.
