Hall, Marcus Lynn

Marcus Lynn Hall departed this earthly life on Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Faithful Christian, precious husband, father and "Granddad," devoted friend. He was "... steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord." (1 Cor. 15:58)

Visitation is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2008, at Lloyd James Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2008, at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Perry Hall and Jay Culpepper officiating and under the song direction of Kalon Ainsworth. Military graveside services immediately following at Tyler Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Golden, Donny Golden, Wayne Golden, Raynard Screws, Doug Mullings, Anthony Mullings, Stephen Mullings, and Timothy Mullings.

Marcus Lynn Hall was born June 8, 1943 and was born again on August 14, 1958. He was preceded in death by his parents J.D. Hall, Jr. and Adriel Joella Robinson Hall of Jasper, Texas, and three grandchildren, Baby Baker, Halle Jase Baker, and Marcie Kay Baker. His life will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Dianna Kay Hall of Flint, Texas (formerly of Whitehouse, Texas); his children: son, Steven Hall of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; son, Darren Hall of New York, N.Y.; son, Michael Hall, his wife Candace and their children Parker and Kenzi of Whitehouse, Texas; son, Christopher Hall, his wife Katrina and their children Alexander, Delaini, Natalie, Bailey and Riddick of Troup, Texas; and daughter, Kaylyn Baker, her husband Jason and their daughter Chloe of Arlington, Texas; 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 7 brothers-in-law and 7 sisters-in-law: Joella and Harry Pickup, Robert and Ruth Hall, Don and Joann Hall, Linda Gilliam, Roger and Jane Hall, Doug and Sherry Mullings, Raynard and Sandra Screws, Jimmy and Weegi Golden, Larry Golden, Donny Golden, and Wayne and Stacy Golden; father and mother-in-law, Audie and Opal Golden; dozens of nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Marcus was employed by the City of Jacksonville for over 18 years and was a faithful member of Southwest Church of Christ. After God and His will, Marcus' family was the most important thing to him. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren making up bedtime stories and singing lullabies and nursery rhymes. He had a deep love for studying the scriptures and of music, and had a magnificent voice, whether he was making up little songs for his children and grandchildren, leading singing in church services, or his beautiful singing in numerous weddings and funerals. He had such a tender and loving spirit, and was always ready to help with his gentle wisdom. He portrayed "... love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control ..." (Gal 5:22) in all aspects of his life. Marcus can truly say, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing." (2 Tim. 4:7-8). He will be dearly missed, but our hearts are comforted to know he is in paradise.
