!NOTES:There are several men named William Crisp in Cherokee Co., NC who are about very close in age to each other. Determining which one is William Jasper N. Crisp was difficult. I've concluded he is a son of Joel Crisp based on analysis below.

Analysis using 1850 & 1860 census.

(1) William Crisp age 3 (c1846/47 NC) s/o Simpson A. Crisp (c1817) & Emily.
Still with parents in 1860, William A. age 14. Middle initial and age removes him from consideration.

(2) William Crisp age 1 (c1848/49 NC) s/o Joel Crisp Jr. (c1823) & Elmina.
Still with parents in 1860, William J. age 10. Age and initial are a match.

(3) William Crisp age 1 (c1848/49 NC) s/o William A. Crisp (c1824) & Elizabeth. This is William D. Crisp and is a different person, he was married to Mary Edwards, sister of Nancy Edwards (wife of William Jasper Crisp).

(4) William Crisp age 1 (c1848/49 NC) s/o Miller Crisp (c1829) & Nancy.
This William was not with parents in 1860, but a son Manley age 10 was there in 1860 (but not in 1850) so the two could be same person. No further record of this William;
