SANTEE, S.C. - Hazel Frye Richardson, 75, widow of John Monroe "J.M." Richardson died Sunday, March 6, 2011 in an Orangeburg hospital after a short illness. Hazel was born November 24, 1935 in Mullins, S.C. to the late Howard Mitchell and Virgie Vaught Frye. She loved to fish, go to yard sales, read, talk and cook fabulous meals for her family. Hazel will live forever in the memories of those lucky enough to know her and love her. She is survived by her sister, Shelby Jean James and her husband Bobby Hershell James of Darling-ton; 2 Brothers: Charles Frye and his wife Kay of Galivants Ferry and Tim Frye of Myrtle Beach; a Son: John Richardson and his wife Geena of Santee; 3 Daughters: Sabrina O'Brian and her husband Larry of Eutawville, Lisa Smith and her husband Kevin of Pittsboro, N.C. and Regina Richardson of Angier, N.C.; 10 Grandchildren: Jonathan Metzendorf, Julie (Jay) Sprankles, Kerri Metzen-dorf, Ashley Mitchell, Ryne Mitchell, Zane (Brittney) Smith, Cheyenne Smith,!
Chelsi Mercer, Dakota Mercer and Skylar; 1 Great Grandson, Easton Chicc-hira; adopted daughters, Cole Kelly Dantzler and Beth Alexander; her Sisters-in-Law, Venia Brown of Columbia, Esther Sawyer of Marion, Gladys Wallace and her husband Tommy of Florence, Mary Alice Richardson of Kenly, N.C. and Ruth Brady and her husband William of Marion; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Metzendorf, Zane Smith, Dakota Mercer, Skylar Mercer, Ryne Mitchell and Japeth Sprankles, along with honorary pallbearers Kevin Smith, Larry O'Brien, Lattie Hester, Charles Frye, Tim Frye, Chris McCray, Joe Chicc-hira, Bobby H. James, William A. Brady and Tommy Wallace. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 9 at Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Buddy Locke officiating. Burial will follow in Devotion Gardens Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 unti!
