Mrs. Jeanette Sawyer Edwards, 76, widow of Maxie Levi Edwards, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Mrs. Edwards was born September 4, 1934 in Marion County, a daughter of the late Harry Lee Sawyer and the late Etha Frye Sawyer. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Southern Methodist Church. Surviving Mrs. Edwards are: her Children: Susie (Scott) Barr of Effingham, Norman Edwards of Mullins and Richard (Janice) Edwards of Dublin, Ga.; 6 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers: Harry Sawyer of Darlington and Roger Sawyer of Florence; and 2 Sisters: Bobbie Jean Batchelor of Florence and Dot Sawyer of Darlington. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 6 at Watson Cemetery, with the Rev. Marion Watkins officiating. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
