Note from your web page your diligent search for Theophilus Evans (the right one for you!). Theophilus Evans was an early landowner in Bartholomew. The Evans listed early are Jesse 1821, Theophilus 1833, William and David (same date) 1837, John 1838, Jackson 1850. Theophilus in 1830 census Bartholomew also Jesse and William, but he was not in 1840 census. A Rosanna Evans appointed administratrix Oct. 20 1834 of Theophilus estate and William was one of the securities. Rosanna may be the "R Evans " in the 1840, a female age 50-60 with two females 5-10, and males 1@10-15 <>, 1@15-20 <>, 1@ 30-40. One researcher says Theophilus children were Jackson, Mary, Elizabeth, William, Katherine, Ann, Milton H., Mathew and Martha. My interest is a Mary, born 1791 NC and her daughter (?) born 1822 KY married Emanuel Coontz, my husband's ancestor. A Rosanna Evans died 1850 age 54. However, Michael Van Arsdall adm. of estate of Rosanna Evans dec. and William Evans as surety Nov. 1849.I appreciate your Evans efforts. To find our own ancestors often means researching and eliminating large groups of the same name until we can zero in on ours.Joanne
