!NOTES:I don't have direct proof that Frances is a daughter of Stephen, but it seems likely:
1. Only Carpenter in area when she married.
2. Stephen was bondsman for marriage of Mary Carpenter to Dixon Naylor, who, in turn, was bondsman for Mary's marriage, suggesting close relationship;
3. Her husband witnessed one of Stephen Carpenter's deeds in 1790;
