!NOTES:I was told by my grandfather Garland Grant and by Homer Barnes that when Arthur was an infant (born out of wedlock to Alice Scroggins and William Henderson), his mother tried to stone him to death, but was stopped. She later gave legal custody of the child to his great uncle Thomas M. Henderson to raise.;
