!NOTE:Not proven son of Wilson & Mary Roffe Grant, but seems to fit;

!NOTES:Birth place is problematic. In 1850 he lists NC, but 1860, 1870 and 1880 he lists TN. However, in 1880 his son Joseph lists father's birth place as NC, so even if Edward is born in TN, there is a NC connection.;

!CENSUS:1840 Smith Co., TN p. 80
Edwin Grant age 20-29 (1810/1820)
10001-001001
My Analysis (who each person *might* be)
1m 20-29 (1810/1820) = Edward C. Grant (c1818)
1m 0-4 (1835/1840) = Joseph W. Grant (c1840) son

1f 10-14 (1825/1830) = Daughter? Niece?
* Age is off for everyone on 1850 census, but it is the only age record we have for Sarah, putting her born ca 1820 which doesn't match 1840 entry. Probably her though.;
