Robert "Bobby" Alston Herlong

MARION, SC

ROBERT ALSTON "BOBBY" HERLONG

Robert Alston "Bobby" Herlong, 67, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 after an illness. The family will receive friends Friday, July 27, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Richardson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Marion Baptist Church, burial will follow at Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bobby was born in Nichols, SC, a son of the late Johnnie W. and Carrie Floyd Herlong. He is also predeceased by brothers, J.L Herlong, Hoyt Herlong, Lester Herlong, and Jimmy Herlong; and sister, Linda Herlong Skipper. Mr. Herlong was retired from Arvin Meritor in Mullins, SC, where he was Quality Control Manager. He was an avid golfer, and board member at Dusty Hills Country Club in Marion, SC.

Mr. Herlong is survived by his wife, Ann Shelley Herlong, of the home; sons, Robert Kip Herlong (Liz) of Marion, SC and Chad Alston Herlong (Melissa) also of Marion, SC; daughter, Lynda Leighann Childs (Joseph) of Conway, SC; brothers, Harold Herlong (Miriam) of Marion, SC, Danny Herlong (Crystal) of Marion, SC and Floyd Herlong of Mullins, SC; sisters, Janice Harrelson of Mullins, SC, and Shelby Campbell (Bobby) of Mullins, SC; sister-in-law, Sylvia Herlong of Manning, SC; and eight grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, Kason, Brent, Kaylee, Hunter, Bryson, and Brayden.
