From "Charleston Wills", Vol. 28, p. 143 - 023481, South Carolina Department of Archives and History, Columbia, South Carolina - verbatim:

"WILL OF SARAH BLACKMAN:

In the Name of God Amen. I Sarah BLACKMAN of Wafsamsaw in Gooscreek Parish being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for it calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all people once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary CREE six Negroes with their increase viz Charles and Hannah and their four Children, Nancy, Ned, Amiritter and Child Lucy to her and her heirs for ever. Item I give and bequeath all the rest of my property both real and personal to be equally divided to and amongst my two Sons Thomas and Benjamin BLACKMAN which property was my thirds of my husbands Thomas BLACKMAN'S estate share and share alike. And I do hereby constitute and appoint my two Sons Thomas and Benjamin BLACKMAN my whole and sole executors to this my last Will and Testament. In Witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Tafsamsaw (sic) this 28 day of April 1797. And in the twenty first Year of American Independence.
