Marey Carter his wife (of Edward Carter) was born May the 20 in year of our Lord 1758 her father his surname was Brown Joseph";

!NOTES:The bible record contradicts other researchers claims that her father was Daniel Brown. It was probably assumed that Mary Brown was a sister of Jane Brown (proven d/o Daniel) who married John Carter. Brothers marrying sisters was common enough. However, the Bible record contradicts that, and does explain why Edward was dismissed for marrying a non Quaker as Daniel Brown and family were Quakers. Apparently Joseph Brown was not.;
