!NOTES:John Garrett killed his father-in-law Peter Stroud in 1834. He claimed accident, others claimed murder. There was a trial apparently, but those records are lost. He was 28 in 1834, so born ca 1806.

!NOTES:Shot and killed his father in law Peter Stroud in 1834. Claimed accident, was arrested for murder. Found guilty, sentenced to hang in Dec 1835.;


!DEATH:11 Dec 1835 by hanging. At least that was his sentence and the date it was supposed to be carried out. I found no record that it actually happened as scheduled.;

!NOTES:Name unknown, but she was married to John Garrett before 1834 for he was Peter Stroud's son-in-law per 1834 newspaper article describing Garrett's murder of Stroud.


!NOTES:"Dillila Garrett" was one of the purchasers at Peter Stroud's estate sale on 27 Mar 1834. Is that Peter Stroud's daughter?;
