William Henry Watson:
Notes:
!NOTES:Marty Grant's 2nd Great Grand father;
!NOTES:William Henry Watson is a proven son of Joseph & Sarah as shown on his 1875 marriage license in New Hanover Co., NC and his 1882 marriage record in Columbus Co., NC.
!NOTES:It seems likely he was named for his uncle William Henry Jenkins (c1840).;
!NOTES:William's T/S gives 1852-1902, but the death year isn't certain. This stone was placed a hundred years after his death by a descendant. If there was an original stone, it must have been removed, or eroded away.;

* John Bender and family were in the same county and township back in 1870, the family consisting of John 40, Mary 30, Daniel (or David) 12, Mary 10 and Martha 8. I wasn't able to find the Benders in 1860. They were in the same county and township in 1900, John Bender July 1831, married (years not given), Mary J. wife Oct 1837, Mary E. Corbett gr-dau Feb 1890. By 1910 John was dead, Mary was still in same county, township, with gr-daughter Mary E. Pickett (wife of Isaac C.). Didn't find Mary J. in 1920, probably dead.
I wasn't able to find out much else about the Bender family, no marriage record or D/C, etc. I did find a D/C for Daniel Stephen Bender (c1858-1925) lists his father as John L. Bender, mother unknown. This is the same John Bender, but this doesn't help much.
Are they related to Mary Ward, William Watson's 1st wife? Or are they related to him?;
