Marey Carter his wife (of Edward Carter) was born May the 20 in year of our Lord 1758 her father his surname was Brown Joseph";


!NOTES:The bible record contradicts other researchers claims that Mary's father was Daniel Brown. It was probably assumed that Mary Brown was a sister of Jane Brown (proven d/o Daniel) who married John Carter. Brothers marrying sisters was common enough. However, the Bible record contradicts that, and does explain why Edward was dismissed for marrying a non Quaker as Daniel Brown and family were Quakers whereas Joseph Brown was not.
- It wouldn't be surprising to find that this Joseph Brown was a brother to Daniel Brown as they lived in the same area.
- Daniel had a son named Joseph who potentially could be the same Joseph who is Mary's father, if he was Daniel's oldest, and from a prior marriage. Just speculation;
