!NOTES:I don't have absolute proof that A. G. Grant, infant, is a child of James and Martha, but it seems very likely. They were the only Grants in Buncombe at the time likely to have a young child, and in reading the names on the 1860 mortality schedule in order, it fits that A. G. Grant would be in James Grant's household;
