!NOTES:It's possible this is the same John who was in Clones, Monaghan, Ireland in the late 1680s/1690s, apparently a son of Alexander (d 1698) and Margaret (d 1698). One problem is that John's children from those records (Jean, John, Margaret, Katherine, Ann and James) don't perfectly align with John's 1742 Will. That could be easily explained though as some having died, others born before or after the Clones, Monaghan, Ireland records.

In my opinion John (d 1742) can't be John of Clones, Monaghan, Ireland records. The one who died 1739 could be him though.

!NOTES:EHC believes this is John who died 1742 in Lancaster Co., PA, but that John's children, per his will, doesn't match the Clones Parish children. I suspect perhaps this John is the one who died 1739 in Lancaster instead, and that John (d 1742) might be his nephew or uncle;
