Roy Davis
Roy Davis, Graham County native, born June 20, 1926, died March 25, 2009. After an extended stay and declining health, Roy passed away at the Britthaven Nursing Home.

He was the son of the late Willard Davis and Cordelia Stratton Davis. He was preceded in death by brothers, Lee Davis and Ray Davis; sisters, Helen Davis, Myrtle Shope, Laura Ricciardelli and Opal Long.

He is survived by a brother, P.R. Davis of Lake City, Fla.; a sister, Daisy Renchkovsky of Akron, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Rua Davis of Washington, Ga.; and fifteen nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Roy did construction work for a career and retired due to health problems in 1994. Most of his working years were spent with Phillips and Jordan Contractors.

The visitation was held Friday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to noon with funeral services following at Townson-Smith Funeral Home. Burial was at the Mountain Creek Cemetery. Rev. Tom Buchanan and the Cecil Rogers Singers participated in the service.

Townson-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
