Joseph Matheson
Joseph Floyd Wetzel Matheson born June 19, 1918 passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 5, 2008.
Floyd is the son of the late Joe and Arzelia Wright Matheson of Topton.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Ventura Calif.; his daughter, Tamara; son, Brandon, and his wife, Roberta; sister, Glata Matheson Lee, of Longview, Wa., formerly of Robbinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Floyd was retired from the Navy and was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. He was also retired from the federal government where he worked as a missile systems analyst and engineer assisting to Cmdr.Scott in establishing the Port Hueneme Naval Ship Missile Engineering Station.
Floyd graduated from Andrews High School in 1935.
A full military service was held at Seabee Military Base in Port Hueneme Calif.
