Sep 13, 1832 State of NC, Surry Co. David Cockerham (90 years of age)deposed he was a Rev. Soldier and he knew Thomas Burch well who formerlyresided in Surry Co., and that he married Sarah Jones of Surry Co. thathe lived for several yrs. A near neighbor to sd. Thomas Burch and heunderstood Thomas to have been a Rev. Soldier. The sd. Thos. Burchmoved many yrs ago to the adj. Co of Wilkes where he believes he diedsome yrs. ago. Jane Roberts deposed Surry Co NC Sep 16, 1852. 80 yearsof age. Said Thos. Burch and his brother Wm. Burch were both engaged inRev War. After the close of the war Thos. Burch married Sarah Jones ofSurry Co NC with whom she was well acquainted, and shortly after movedfrom the Co of Surry, NC. Sarah Burch was 78 yrs old in 1844. Thefather of Thomas Burch lived in Surry Co in 1783." Thomas was a soldierof the Virginia Continental Line. Goes on to list issue of Thomas andSarah.Thomas C.
