16 Jan 1694/5 Will of Thomas Sidway, proved 3 Dec 1695 (see below). Land and all personal
property to wife Jeane Sidway for her lifetime, then at her death to William Stringer
and his heirs. Wife executrix. Witness: Benjamin Harrison, Sarah Pedington.

10 Sep 1695 Jane Griffin, relict and executrix of Thomas Sidway, and now the wife of John
Griffin, produced the will of Thomas Sidway and Benjamin Harrison proved it by his
oath, but “the other witness not being present it is refferred to the next court for
further proofe.” John Griffin, the current husband of the executrix, also ordered to
appear at the next court to take the executor’s oath. [Surry County Court Order Book
