Cecelia Patsy Lewis Campbell, 87 of North Myrtle Beach passed away peacefully on March 23, 2017. Cecelia was born in Horry to the late Boyd and Corine Lewis on January 16, 1930. After graduating from Aynor High School in 1946, she began her career as a high school teacher in her home town for two years, later pursuing bookkeeping for Goodson Construction of Aynor. She and her husband Horace ran the Inlet Fishing Pier from 1955 to 1965. She went on to earn a certificate in Cosmetology in 1964, and opened Surf Beauty Spot in Cherry Grove in 1966 which she operated until becoming ill in 2012. She also earned her Certificate of Instruction in Cosmetology from The University of South Carolina in 1987. Cecelia’s talents were many. She enjoyed decorating and making floral arrangements that won numerous ribbons at the Driftwood Garden Club, where she was a charter member. Cecelia served as President of The MLC Shrine Auxiliary in 1970 and was BPW Career Woman of the year in 1972. In 2004 she became a Benefactor of North Myrtle Beach Rescue Squad. Cecelia was a charter member of Chapel by the Sea Church where she regularly attended until joining Lakeside Baptist Church in 1990. Nothing could compare to the love she shared with her family, friends, and husband, Horace Campbell, her primary caregiver. Preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Corrine Lewis, brother Bobby Lewis and sister Marie Johnson. Cecelia is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 67 years, Horace, children: Ruth Anne Ellis (Scott) and Tommy Campbell, both of North Myrtle Beach; three grandchildren: Ty Bellamy (Harmony), Jackson Campbell, and Brooklyn Campbell; great-grandchildren: Ethan Bellamy, and Lyla Bellamy; sisters: Margie Beachler and Nell Cartrette; and many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heartland Hospice, 2411 North Oak Street, Suite 108, Myrtle Beach, SC. 29572 or Lakeside Baptist Church, 11th Avenue North, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
