!OBITUARY:Mrs Mary L. LACKEY, age 83, passed away at a Lynchburg, S.C. hospital Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. after a lingering illness. Mrs Lackey was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was born in Swain County, N.C. Dec. 29, 1866 but for the past 35 years has made her home here. Surviving are 3 sons, Lee LACKEY of Union Route 3, R.A. LACKEY of High Point, N.C., A.F. LACKEY of Bryson City, N.C.; 6 daughters, Mrs. Mollie MALCOM of Bell, W. Va., Mrs. L.A. SWANSON of Hickory, N.C., Mrs. Cecil FOSTER, of Union Route 4, Mrs. Alonzo KENT of Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Ernest FOSTER of Union Route 4, Mrs. G.W. SCOGGINS of City. A large number of grand children and great grand children, 1 sister, Mrs. Martha LACKEY of Asheville, N.C., also survive. (more...);
