(1) One highly speculative theory is that she is a Houston. I base this *only* on her naming a son "Levi" (perhaps after a Levi Houston born about 7 years before), and that I'm DNA matches with many members of the Andrew Davis family. His wife was Elizabeth Houston. Warning: Highly speculative. Not one shred of proof that Margaret Carpenter is a Houston, so use at your own peril. Marty 11/4/19.

(2) Another theory is that she is a Wilson. No proof here either, but one of her grandsons was named "Wilson Carpenter" for no obvious reason. However, that person's mother is unidentied (Wife of David Carpenter) so it's possible *she* was the Wilson in question.
