Ronald Maurice Stewart, 70, of the West Buffalo Community of Robbinsville, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at his residence.
He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Ralph and Maggie Lee Hyde Stewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Barry Stewart and his grandchildren, Jared Stewart and Tabetha Mae Stewart.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances Wilson Stewart; sons, Ronnie Maurice Stewart of Asheville, Gil Stewart of Robbinsville, and Mike and Tammy Stewart of Andrews; brother, Jay Stewart of Robbinsville; sisters, Jackie Newsome, Carol Crisp and Tammy Buchanan, all of Robbinsville, Roma Hipp of Mooresville and Claudia Cameron of Charlotte; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on June 27 at the Townson-Smith chapel with Revs. Daniel Stewart and Mickey Stewart officiating. Committal services were held on Saturday, June 28 at Carver Cemetery.
Townson-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
