!NOTES:Listed as a child of Phillip Phillips and Mary O'Neal. Source? Phillip was born in Maryland per his 1850 entry, and Wiley reported his father born in NC per his 1880 census entry. Phillip did live in the same part of Cherokee County, so that shows a possible connection. There was a Phillip Phillips in Iredell in 1820 (where Wiley was born). There was a Spencer Phillips in Iredell in 1830, and he also came to Cherokee Co, NC by 1840, so that is further evidence. Philip was in Macon Co, NC in 1830. In both cases (1820 & 1830) he had apparent sons who fit Wiley's age at those times. More evidence is needed though to prove Phillip is Wiley's father;
