!AFFIDAVIT:26 Apr 1893 Union Co, GA On this 26th day of April A.D. 1893 personally appeared before me and Ordinary in and for the aforesaid County duly authorized to administer oaths. Rebecca GRIBBLE age 67 years, a resident of Ivy Log District, in the County of Union and State of Georgia whose Post office is Spilaw Union County, Georgia ... That affiant was personally well acquainted with Captain Samuel PATTERSON, soldier above named as the husband of Margaret PATTERSON, Claimant in this Case, for ___ years and 40 years each respectively. That said soldier above named resided in the County of Union State of Georgia and that said Samuel PATTERSON the soldier above named, died at his residence on or about the 13th day of September A.D. 1879. That affiant obtained a knowledge of his said death by having been present at the time of the death and burial that said Captain Samuel PATTERSON died in Hurfino (sic) Co. Colorado. Ant that affiant knows that said soldier did at his death leave a widow surviving his death who's name is Margaret PATTERSON. And that affiants are neighbors of said widow and have been likewise well acquainted with said widow Margaret PATTERSON for the last 50 years and ___ years and know her to be the widow of Samuel PATTERSON, said soldier named, and that she has not remarried since his death. Affiant states entirety from personal knowledge. I further declare that I have no interest in said case and am not concerned in its prosecution.;
