!NOTES:I have seen no records to prove that Joseph Cantrell was the Mr. Cantrel who was married to Betsy Davis before 1836. However, Joseph fits fairly well, but keep in mind I could be very wrong about him being her husband since it is all circumstantial (but compelling).

* I have seen numerous online trees (none with a shred of documentation of course) that show a William Cantrel of Rockingham Co., NC as being the spouse of "Elizabeth Davis". It is this same family for certain based upon the children, but where do they get their data from? None have parents for Elizabeth, and they show them marrying in Rockingham Co., NC, where, as far as I'm aware, William Davis never resided.

!NOTES:"Betsy" is a common nickname for "Elizabeth", but William also has a proven daughter named Elizabeth by his 2nd wife, so that is a bit confusing. She is clearly listed as "Betsy" in the Will and in the estate papers.;

!NOTE:Don't know who Betsy's husband was, other than "Mr. Cantrell". However, I believe Joseph Cantrell is the best suspect, but have no solid proof other than him being next to William Davis in 1810 census;
