!NOTES:Birth - ca 1799/1800 per 1850, 1860 and 1880 census.
1830 = 30-39 (1790/1800)
1840 = 40-49 (1790/1800)
1850 = 50 (c1799/1800)
1860 = 60 (c1799/1800)
1870 = 72 (c1797/1798)
1880 = 80 (c1799/1800)
Born 20 Oct 1798 per some, but what is the proof of that? It matches his 1870 census entry, but not exactly (should be 71 then if b/d is accurate).;

!NOTES:Many list John Davis as John David Davis or John D. Davis, but I have never seen any record from his lifetime that shows him with a middle initial, so I question whether he had a middle name. None of his siblings had middle names.;

!NOTES:T/S "John David Davis 1792-1881" fairly new, placed long after his death. Middle name and birth year both wrong.
