I (Marty Grant) am not related to the James W. Grant family as far as I know. I am very interested in him though.
James W. Grant was born ca 1825/26 presumably in Northampton Co, NC. I don't know who his parents might have been. There are several possibilities. He named one of his sons "Newit", so that may be a clue.
James W. Grant obtained a marriage bond on 24 Sep 1846 to marry Martha Boone in Northampton Co, NC. They were listed on the 1850 census in Northampton Co, NC.
