| Floyd Hensley was born ca 1819/20 per his age on
the 1860 census (40). He was born in Kentucky per the same source.
I don't know who his parents are. Floyd would have presumably been with his parents for the 1820, 1830 and 1840 censuses. Unfortunately I can't do any kind of analysis since I don't know where he was living those years. Fayette Co., VA (now WV) was created in 1831 from parts of Kanawha, Greenbrier and Logan Counties, all of which had Hensleys residents at various times, many with Kentucky connections. I don't know how, or if Floyd ties into any of those. There were no Hensleys in Fayette Co., VA in 1840, so Floyd was probably living elsewhere at that time, perhaps still in Kentucky. Floyd Hensley was not listed anywhere on the 1850 census as far as I could find. On 7 Oct 1851 Floyd Hensley married Elizabeth (---) Courtner in Fayette Co., VA (now WV). Elizabeth was born ca 1819/20 in Virginia. I don't know her maiden name. She was widowed from a Mr. Courtner (or Kirtner). They are on the 1860 census in Fayette. No other Hensleys are listed.
They are on the 1870 census in Fayette, though listed as "Henley" by mistake.
Floyd Hensley died sometime in the 1870's in Fayette Co., WV. Elizabeth is listed on the 1880 census in Fayette County.
I don't know when Elizabeth died, though sometime after 1880. |

Elizabeth was born in 1819/1820 in VA. She died after 1880 in Fayette Co, WV. They had the following children. 2 M i. George Hensley was born in 1852/1853 in Fayette Co, VA (WV). He died after 1860 in Fayette Co, VA (WV). 3 M ii. William Hensley was born in 1854/1855 in Fayette Co, VA (WV). He died after 1870 in Fayette Co, WV. 4 M iii. John Hensley was born in 1861/1862 in Fayette Co, VA (WV). He died after 1880 in Fayette Co, WV.
