George W. Hensley (c1824) and Margaret --- of Sullivan Co, TN

I (Marty Grant) am not related to George W. Hensley as far as I know.

George W. Hensley was born ca 1823/24 in Tennessee, possibly Sullivan or Washington County (more likely).

George's parents are unproven, but I think it is likely that he is a son of William Hensley (c1797) and Barbara Wolf. He fits into William's family based on circumstantial evidence, but I've seen no direct proof connecting them. William did have an apparent son his age (per 1830 and 1840 census), and William is the suspected father of Daniel P. Hensley (c1820), and George named one of his sons "Daniel P.". William is also the father of Thomas J. Hensley (1840), and George named one of his sons "Thomas J.". This is all circumstantial, but it works well.

George was presumably home with his parents for the 1830 census. William Hensley did have an apparent son close enough to his age "under 5" (born ca 1825/30).

George W. Hensley married Margaret --- before ca  1846. I suspect they married in Sullivan County, since no record was found in Washington County (and the Sullivan marriages from this timeframe are lost). Margaret was born ca 1825/26 in North Carolina. I don't know what her maiden name is.

They were listed in Sullivan Co, TN on the 1850 census only a few pages from William Hensley (c1797) who could possibly be his father.

Children

George and Margaret had two children by the time of the 1850 census.  I have no additional data on them.
