I (Marty Grant) am not related to William B. Henslee as far as I know.
William B. Henslee was born ca 1819/20 (per 1850 census) in North Carolina (per 1850 census). He was most likely born in Orange County, North Carolina.
William is a son of Richard Henslee (c1775) and Susan Johnson of Orange Co, NC, as proven by several factors, chiefly that Richard was living with William in 1860.
For the 1820 census, William would have been about 1 year old or less, so if born yet, he should be in the "under 10" age group. Surely enough, Richard Henslee had two apparent sons that age with him in 1820 Orange County, NC.
For the 1830 census, William would have been about 10 years old, so he ought to be enumerated in either the 5-9 age group (born ca 1820/25) or the 10-15 age group (born ca 1815/20). Richard Henslee had one apparent son in each of those age groups with him in Orange County.
For the 1840 census, William would have been about 20 years old, so should be enumerated in the age 15-19 category (born ca 1820/25) or the 20-29 age group (born ca 1810/20). Richard Henslee did have two sons in the 20-29 age group with him in Orange County.
William was not found with his father in 1850 Orange County, NC. However, he was found living down in Sumter County, Georgia that year. He probably moved there ca 1849-50. He was head of household, though unmarried. He had his sister Elizabeth Hensley and her husband John G. Mansfield living with them. (They married 1849 in Orange Co, NC). A "Henry Turner" was also with them, though probably not related. He was the only Hensley in Sumter County that year.

In the 1850's William and his sister moved half-way across Georgia to the north-east settling in Putnam County. At some point in the 1850's his sister's husband had died, and she continued living with William.
Sometime between 1850 and ca 1856, William B. Henslee married E. S. ---, though whether in Sumter or Putnam County, I don't know. I don't know her name, as the only record I have for her is the 1860 census which listed her by initials only. She was born ca 1834/35 in Georgia. I don't know her maiden name.
William and family were listed on the 1860 census in Putnam County, Georgia. His widowed sister Elizabeth Mansfield was with him, as was their widowed father Richard Henslee, and their unmarried brother J. L. Henslee.

I don't have them on the 1870 census or the 1880 census.
William and E. S. had four children by the 1860 census. I don't have any additional data on them so far.
