The author (Marty Grant) is not related to James Patterson as far as can be determined.

James Patterson was born ca 1800/10 per his age on the 1830 census (20-29). I don't know who his parents are.

The first and only record I have for James is his entry on the 1830 census in Hall Co., GA. He isn't listed near any of the other Hall County Pattersons.

I have no way to know which of them might be this same James.

Children of James Patterson. The 1830 census shows one apparent daughter born ca 1825/30.
