Land : Sept. 5, 1749, Samuel STUART land patent 150 A on south fork of Linville Creek in Augusta ( now Rockingham ) Co., VA.. Sold this land Aug 11, 1766 to Jacob Copeland for f25 while living in NC.
May 9, 1757 grant from Lord Granville of 508 A on east side of Yadkin River in Rowan Co. (now Yadkin) NC. (deeds 6:220). After 1770 this land was in Surry Co..
Will: dated Aug. 20 1768. proved Aug. 4, 1770 Rowan Co. (a:153). Wit: Preston Crawford, Eliazabeth Winscott & J. Harvey. Executors: sons David & Samuel. He gave all his movable estate to wife Lydia, & left the tract of land on which he lived ot his sons Joseph & Benjamin, to be equally divided.
Lydia's Will : dated Jan. 11, 1771. proved Nov. Court 1772, Surry Co.( 1:13) Wit: Christopher Stanton, Charoles Hickerson & Edward Hughes. Executors: sons David & Samuel STEWART. She asked that "out of my estate a title be obtained for a certain tract of land on the south side of the Yadkin river adjoining Benjamin Pettit & James Carson's lands & if such title can be obtained the same be sold & the value thereof be equally divdied unto my beloved sons David, Samuel, John & Isaiah Stewart." She gave he son Benjamin "an iron pot now in his possession. I give unto my son Joseph's daughter Lydia a heifer or a young cow." She gave her bed & furnishings to her granddaughter Lydia, daughter of son David. An inventory of her estate, made Feb. 12, 1773, amounting to f135.6.10, was presented Feb. 16, 1773 by executors David & Samuel STEWART.
