!OBIT:Monday, September 12, 2011 9:24 AM CDT Essie Mae Waldroup, age 87, of the Dick Brach Community in Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, September 2, 2011 at Graham Healthcare and Rehab. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Mount and Victoria Adams Stewart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ed Waldroup; her son, Kenny Waldroup; her sister, Netter Stewart Waldroup; and her brothers, Vasco Stewart, Pearlie Stewart, Pose Stewart, Claude Stewart, and Floyd Stewart. She is survived by her sons, William Jimmy Waldroup of Talladega, AL, Joe Edward Waldroup, Billy Ray Waldroup, Vernon Waldroup, Rufus Waldroup, and Lonnie Waldroup, all of Robbinsville, NC. She has 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 5, 2011 at Cedar Cliff Baptist Church. The Reverends Daniel Stewart and Mickey Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow at Carver Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
