Vernon Waldroup, age 65 of Robbinsville, passed away, Monday, October 13, 2014 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Ed and Essie Mae Stewart Waldroup. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Waldroup. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Anderson Waldroup; sons and their wives, Eddie and Wendy Waldroup, Chris and Cindy Waldroup all of Robbinsville, NC; grandchildren, Kaidge Waldroup, Lorin Hogsed, Sawyer Hogsed; brothers, Joe Waldroup, Bill Waldroup, Rufus Waldroup, Lonnie Waldroup all of Robbinsville, NC, and Jimmy Waldroup of Talladega, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverend Daniel Stewart, Jim Teasdale, and Harold Beasley will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 till 7:00 pm Wednesday at the Chapel prior to the service. Committal Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Carver Cemetery. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
