!NOTES:Neal Davis was listed as white on the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 census, but back in 1840 he was listed as "Free Colored". That could be a census error, or perhaps he was dark skinned and of some mixed ethnicity. If so, he could be a mix of white and black, white and Native American, or some combination of all three, or perhaps something else entirely.;


!NOTES:Cornelius Davis's parents aren't proven, but it seems very likely he is a son of Richard Davis because -
1. Richard was "free colored" as was Cornelius (at least per 1840 census)
2. Both lived on Livingston's Creek.
3. Associated with same families, etc.
4. Fits very well.

- I once *speculated* that Tabitha was a Wallace based only on the fact that she was born in SC and a Henry Wallace, also born SC, was her neighbor. This information is "out there" now, but it was highly speculative. We have a source for Jones, so I've changed her maiden name to that from Wallace.
