Flora Irene Wright Laughter, 91, of Topton, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2008 at Valley View Care Center.
She was born Friday, Jan. 19, 1917 in Cherokee County to the late William Rush Wright and the late Hassie L. Nichols Wright. She was a member of Red Marble Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery and crocheting.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Orpha Wright of Topton, and Dale and Jerline Laughter of Robbinsville; daughter, Barbara Roper of Topton; brother, Clifton Wright of Louisville, Tenn.; sister, Stella Mason of Topton; two granddaughters, Karen Rogers and Jackie LaDoucuer; three grandsons, Bobby Roper, Shane Laughter and David Wright; 14 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Iris Lunsford, a nephew, Alvin Wright, and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23 at Red Marble Baptist Church with the Revs. Daniel Stewart, Mickey Stewart and Frances Postell officiating. Music was
provided by Paul and Carol Jones, Sonny Reighard, Analisa Collins, Brenda Bettis, Joyce Owenby and Red Marble Baptist Church Choir.
Interment was at 10 a.m. Thursday in Red Marble Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Ron McClue officating. Pallbearers were Randy Collins, David Wright, Kenny Corn, Jason Rogers, Will Wright and Lanny Mason. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Roper, Junior Roper, John La Douceur and Alvin Wright.
Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy was in charge of arrangements.
