I (Marty Grant) am not related to Fielding Hensley as far as I know.

Fielding Hensley was born ca 1828/29 (per 1850 census) in Tennessee (per 1850 census). I don't know what county he was born in, but it seems very likely he was born in Lawrence County.

Fielding Hensley is probably a son of Russell Hensley (c1804) and Susan Null, though this isn't proven, but it fits very well based on circumstantial evidence. First, Fielding was born in Tennessee in 1829, and Russell lived there at that time. Russell did have an apparent son Fielding's age with him in 1830 and 1840 census, and they lived near each other in 1850 and 1860. None of this is totally conclusive, but it works.

Fielding Hensley would have been about 1 year old by the time of the 1830 census, so if enumerated (with his parents) he should be in the "under 5" age group (born ca 1825/30). Russell Hensley did have an apparent son this age with him in Independence County, Arkansas.

Fielding would have been about 11 years old by the time of the 1840 census, so he should be enumerated in the age 10-14 category (born ca 1825/30). Russell Hensley did have an apparent son this age with him in Johnson County, Arkansas.

Fielding Hensley married Elizabeth --- before 1849, presumably in Van Buren Co, AR. Elizabeth was born ca 1831/32 in Arkansas. I don't know her maiden name.

In 1850, Fielding Hensley and family were listed in Van Buren Co, AR in Union District just two pages from his probable parents.

Fielding Hensley and family was still in Van Buren for the 1860 census just three houses from his widowed mother. They were also just three houses from Sampson Hensley (c1819), relationship unknown, but probably a cousin.

Children

Fielding and Elizabeth had at least four children per the various census records. I don't have much additional data on any of them so far.
