James Hensley family of VA, KY and IL

James Hensley seems to have been in Tazewell Co, VA in the late 1790's and early 1800's. Before 1810 he moved to Floyd Co, KY. Several of the other Hensley's in Tazewell also went to Floyd Co, KY. It seems that James could be a brother of Daniel Hensley, Robert Hensley and several others who went from Tazewell and wound up in WV. These Hensley's are sons of Catherine Hensley. James left Floyd Co, KY in the 1820's and went to Edgar Co, IL for a short time. He was found in Clark Co, IL on the 1830 census, that same year Coles County was formed from Clark, and he was listed in Coles in 1840. I didn't find him in 1850.

James son Aaron is proven by a Power of Attorney (1828 Edgar Co, IL). Aaron was listed in 1830 in Edgar Co, IL. He left Edgar Co, IL in the 1830's and moved to Kanawha Co, VA (WV) where he was found in 1840 and 1850. By 1860 he was in Roane Co, VA (WV) which was formed from part of Kanawha in 1856. By 1870 he was in Calhoun Co, WV. Several of those suspected brothers of old James also moved to this general area of West Virginia.
