John T. Hensley was born ca 1827/28 per his age on the 1860
census (32). He was 43 in 1870 (c1827). He may have been born in
Henry Co., VA where he was
living in 1860. I don't know who his parents are. He didn't live near the other Hensleys in Henry County. John Hensley would have been about two or three years old for the 1830 census. John Hensley (c1790) had two boys under 5 (c1825/30) in Henry County. John would have been about 12 for the 1840 census. Lewis Hensley (1740/50) was the only Hensley listed in Henry Co., VA in 1840, but he had no children that age. I wasn't able to find John Hensley on the 1850 census. He wasn't in Henry County nor elsewhere as far as I could find. John T. Hensley married Frances (---) sometime before ca 1855, presumably in Henry County. She was born ca 1833/34 in Virginia (both per the 1860 census). I don't know her maiden name. They are in Henry for the 1860 census, but not near any of the other Hensleys.
They are still in Henry for the 1870 census, not listed near any other Hensleys.
They were still in Henry Co., VA for the 1880 census. Again no other Hensleys were listed nearby.
* Not sure about Frances's middle initial. I don't know when they died, though sometime after 1880. |
