I (Marty Grant) am not related to Larkin Hensley as far as I know.
Larkin Hensley was born ca 1799/1800 (per 1850 census) in South Carolina (per 1850 census), presumably in Laurens District.
It isn't completely proven, but it seems very likely that Larkin is a son of Enoch Hensley and Jane Nicholson. I base this on several facts, mainly that Larkin lived near Enoch, and that he was born in SC ca 1800, when Enoch lived there, he was with Enoch in Lawrence Co, AR. If they weren't father and son, they were still somehow closely related. (Also, one of Enoch's sons (Samuel) named one of his kids "Larkin").
For the 1800 census, Larkin would have been about 1 year old, or less, so if born prior to the census taker's visit, he would be enumerated in the "under 10" age group (born ca 1790/1800). Enoch Hensley had one apparent son that age with him in Laurens District, South Carolina. I suspect this is Larkin.
For the 1810 census, Larkin Hensley would have been about 10 or 11 years old, so should be enumerated in the 10-15 age group (born ca 1794/1800). Enoch Hensley had an apparent son that age with him in Laurens Dist, SC.
For the 1820 census, Larkin Hensley would have been about 20 or 21 years old, so he should be enumerated in the age 16-25 group (born ca 1794/1804). Enoch Hensley had 2 apparent sons that age with him in Jackson Co, TN, one of them surely Larkin.
During the 1820's, Enoch moved his family to Warren Co, TN, and we can assume that Larkin went along as well, but by 1830 he was in neighboring Rutherford County, Tennessee with a family.
Larkin Hensley married Ann --- sometime in the 1820's, but before ca 1825. I'm not sure if they married in Jackson, Warren or Rutherford County, Tennessee (no record of the marriage has been found). Ann was born ca 1803/04 in Kentucky. I don't know her maiden name.
Larkin Hensley was listed on the 1830 census in Rutherford Co, TN, the only Hensley there. His parents were in neighboring Warren County, Tennessee that year. It is possible they both lived near the border, so not too far apart (but that is just speculation). Larkin was listed between Young Smith and James Price.

Sometime between 1830 and ca 1833, Larkin Hensley moved his family to Lawrence County, Arkansas where his parents and siblings all arrived roughly at the same time.
Unlike his brothers, Larkin Hensley was not listed on the 1835-1838 tax lists for Lawrence Co, AR. This may mean that he owned no land, or that he was not in that county at that time, but in some neighboring county.
Larkin Hensley was listed on the 1840 census in Lawrence Co, AR just a few houses from his father Enoch Hensley and also listed just a few houses from Ephraim Hensley (1790/1800), relationship unknown. Larkin was between Thomas Martin and John Milligan.

During the 1840's, Larkin and family moved southwest to Pulaski County, Arkansas.
In 1850, Larkin and family were listed on the 1850 census in Pulaski County, Arkansas in the City of Little Rock.

I have no record of them after the 1850 census.
Larkin and Ann had 5 children with them in 1850, and the 1830 and 1840 census shows three more who are yet unidentified. I have no additional data on any of these children so far.
