I (Marty Grant) am not related to Samuel G. Hensley as far as I know.
Samuel G. Hensley was born ca 1809/10 (per 1850 census) in Tennessee (per 1850 census), but I don't know what county. I don't know what the "G" middle initial stands for.
I have no clue who Samuel's parents might be. It seems reasonable that he might be a brother Simson W. Hensley (c1810 TN) and of John R. G. Hensley (c1814 TN) and James Hensley (c1824 TN) who were all born in Tennessee, and also lived in Crawford County, Arkansas. Since Simson and Samuel were the same age, if they are brothers, then they could be twins, which would explain the similar names. However, that is just speculation.
Samuel G. Hensley would probably have been home with his parents for the 1810 census, which was lost for all of Tennessee.
In 1820, he would probably have been home with his parents, but I have no idea if they were still in Tennessee, or in some other state by then.
Samuel G. Hensley was in Crawford Co, Arkansas by 1828, for he was listed on the tax list that year.
Samuel was listed on the 1830 census in Crawford County, Arkansas. He had two adult males and one adult female in the household. The female could be his wife, or a sister. I have no idea if he was ever married, so it is hard to say.

Samuel was listed on the 1840 census in Crawford Co, Arkansas, just two pages from possible brother Simson W. Hensley (c1810). Samuel had a huge household containing 16 adult males and several others. He may have had a boarding house, or a hotel or something.

In 1850, Samuel G. Hensley was still in Crawford, but no longer a head of household. He was instead residing with the Isaac and Mary Austin family. Isaac Austin was a House Carpenter and so was Samuel G. Hensley. It does not appear that Samuel was related to any of these folks.

I did not find Samuel on the 1860 census. I don't know what happened to him after 1850.
As far as I can tell, Samuel never married.
